During the holidays I somehow stumbled upon this blog by Stephanie and this blog by her sister. I was instantly intrigued and spent a lot of the night reading about their family.
I hadn't heard this story on the news, but maybe you had? In August, Stephanie and her husband were in a plane crash. About 80% of her body was burned, and 30% of her husband's. She was an avid blogger - I know, because I read back through a lot of her archives - and a mom to 4 little kids.
After the crash happened, their entire family pulled together to raise money and look after the kids. One of Stephanie's sisters kept a blog to make updates about their progress and to talk about how the kids were doing. It's a heartbreaking and heartwarming story, and really puts life into perspective.
The good news is that Stephanie was sent home from the hospital just a few days ago (her husband was released after 2 or 3 months). She is also going to begin blogging again next week. I can't wait to read what she has to say, it's going to be very interesting.
