Pot Luck League, Game 2

Last night we hosted round 2 of the potluck league. Most of the regular members had gone away for Canada Day so our captain recruited different friends. The more the merrier, right?

I made my mom's sherbeRt punch, which didn't taste quite as good as when she made it for my grannie's birthday. It looked pretty because I used rainbow sherbeRt.

There was tons of food - tacos, homemade tourtière (omg so good), mango salad, rice salad, and fresh spring rolls. And lots of beer. And delicious desserts including peach coffee cake, peanut butter cheesecake, and oreo cake. I was too busy eating to take more pictures!

Due to the CUPE strike most of the fireworks across the city were cancelled. Thanks for ruining Canada's 142nd Birthday Mayor Miller. There was one festival run by the federal government that was still on so we walked outside for a bit hoping to see something.

And we did! We stood at the corner of an intersection (we are so ghetto) and peeked through trees and rooftops to get glimpses of the fireworks, many kilometres away. Better than nothing I guess!

Did you do anything fun to celebrate Canada's birthday?

  4. Potluck group - great idea!!

For Canada Day we joined the sea of red and white downtown. The rain held off and it wasn't too hot for a change so it was nice :)
