Pumpkin Pie Muffins

A few weeks ago I told M we should try to go heat less until January. Why, you ask? I'm not really sure other than I like to live on the edge.

When it gets too chilly there is only one thing to do. Bake! Then leave the oven door open. Not while the oven is still on, of course. This does the trick every time and increases the condo temperature by a degree or two in minutes. I am my father's daughter, that's for sure.

After eating the most delicious pie at Thanksgiving, I had to have more pumpkin. I found this recipe for Pumpkin Pie muffins. I followed the recipe exactly except used applesauce instead of oil. All I can say is om nom nom nom. And guess what, M liked them too!

  1. You are your father's daughter, that's for sure!!! But he only waits until November!!! And... he's already turned the heat on this year.... it must be a sign that he's getting older!! I love the idea of pumpkin pie muffins. I'm going to make them for sure. Funny thing, also, I was at cards tonight with my gal friends and we were talking about replacing oil with applesauce and no one knew if it worked or not.... so now I can say I know someone who has done it and it works!!

  2. You're so cute Jill! I love how you're "living on the edge" and being environmentally friendly! Does this mean as soon as this nice weather passes and the cold comes, you're going to be wearing layers of clothes to bed? You're blog entertains me, I enjoy checking it everyday, hoping there is a new post!

  4. Oh yeah, I hardly ever use oil anymore. Works perfectly.

Aw, thanks for the sweet comments Stepher. The layers have already begun, sadly. Well not to bed, that's what duvets are for!
