Indian Cooking Class, Week 5

NAAN!
Ingredients:
3 cups white flour
1 tsp oil
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp yeast
1 cup warm water

Directions:
In a big bowl add flour, salt, oil and mix together. In a warm cup of water add sugar and yeast and let sit for 10 min. Knead flour with waters and let sit for an hour. Heat oven to 500 degrees (broil). Roll small pieces of dough into flat ovals. Cook naan on each side for about 2 minutes.

Ohmygosh, freshly baked naan is so good.
Here's one of my group members, checking on our baking bread! Hi Susan!
In week 5 we also made chana masala (chickpeas), spicy potatoes, and kachumber (mixed) salad. I'm sure it was delicious, but all I can remember is the naan :)

  1. I can't believe you know how to make Naan. I'm expecting some the next time I come to visit you. We won't have to go to any restaurants ... just your kitchen!!! Can't wait!!

  2. Brush the naan with garlic butter for a real treat :)
