Today I was trying to explain what April Fool's Day means to the ESL kids. After talking about it, I asked them to come up with a joke or prank. I actually wrote some of their answers down so I could remember them, because I was rolling on the floor laughing.
Picture these quotes being said with a lot of excitement and broken English.
"Warning! The chair wants to eat you."
"Watch out, there's a mucas spider behind you. It's going to kill you, don't turn around."
"The closet is dangerous, don't go in it."
... and my favourite...
"Don't look back - you're husband is eating blood."
Hmmm.... I don't think they quite understood...

ReplyDeleteThat was funny...... you must have quite a few laughs with your students!!
ReplyDeleteFunny! :)
ReplyDeleteMy day was similar although I must say that most of the jokes I heard involved alot more potty humor - but then my kids are a little younger and not so evolved :)
