For my Husband and Canada

Go Canada Go!
Seriously, I took 35 pictures trying to get one that was okay. Let's face it - pictures in the mirror with a hockey jersey on are not that flattering! Most of the pictures turned out something like this... I'm wahooing, if you couldn't tell.

Are you watching the game tonight?

Go Sens Go

Ever since watching I Love You Man I can't help wanting to cheer, "Here we go Galaxy, here we go" every time I'm watching live sports. Ugh, I love that movie.

Tonight we went here...

... to see these guys play Buffalo.

I love the opening music. Dum dum dum dum... bumbumbabummmmmm...

It was an exciting game, and victory was ours!

I enjoy going to a game or two every year. In Ottawa going to see hockey is actually possible, and for a reasonable price, unlike in Toronto. I have a feeling we'll be going to see a lot of games when we're settled in Chicago!

Now I'm watching Sydney White with M's mom. Teeny bopper movies are the best! What did you do on your Saturday evening?

My Hockey Star Husband

Tonight I went to see M. play hockey again, what a star. First, we got to the arena as the game was starting because the highway was so backed up. Then M. forgot his hockey clothes at home, so he had to wear dress socks in his skates. Luckily he got to borrow someone's "Choppers Forever" t-shirt after his shower. It would have been funnier if he walked out of the change room topless, but the skeleton riding a motorcycle on the shirt is pretty sweet.

His team is not what I would call good, and M. says the picture above "shows how thirsty I was after my team hung me out to dry". Poor Buddy, I've never seen so many breakaways in my life.

Anyway, I made an amazing discovery tonight! How did I not know about this magic little button until now?

GOLD!

Go Canada Go!
Ah, I wish I had been at the game tonight. I'm sure the crowd would have been just insane. I missed the organ player and yelling CHARGE! And watching the flag rise as the crowd belts out O' Canada. I tell you, watching from home just isn't the same. Anyway, at each Canada game they passed a huge flag around the arena. It was very cool being under it and helping to pass it along. I wanted M. to get stuck in one of its holes, but he didn't go for it.

Hi Ho Silver

Hockey is my life. Tonight was my 9th game in 8 days. Two more tomorrow. It's kinda growing on me.

I just loved watching the Slovakian team celebrate their win against USA. Almost brought a tear to my eye.

Here is my friend, also known as Hi Ho Silver. I've never seen such a beautiful head of hair. He sits in front of us every game. He has a big head. Really. Look at it compared to the man beside him. And it's really, really silver.

I won't miss him.
