Lazy Day

This picture captures what I'm doing today... absolutely nothing and I'm loving it. Browsing the internet while sipping bubble tea while eating sea salt dark chocolate.

When M and I were in Halifax this summer we sampled a piece of dark chocolate that had sea salt sprinkled on top. Yum! Then I saw this Lindt bar on sale yesterday and had to try it. It's pretty good and I've now had two squares, so I need to move it far away so that I can savour it.

We've been searching for a hotel for Christmas vacation, purchasing a few flights, and trying to find a recipe to make for tomorrow's pot luck league. Later tonight we're going to a birthday party. Life is good, I can't complain.

1 Step Forward, 15 Backs

Tonight I went to an art event called 1 Step Forward, 15 Backs that was organized by the dude who drew M's latest tattoo. There were fifteen back pieces on display, lots of appetizers, and tons of people with tattoos. Most of the people had full or at least half sleeves and I could just see the wheels turning in M's head!

Most of the art wasn't exactly my style, as I enjoy pretty things like flowers and rainbows, rather than scary skeletons. This didn't stop me from appreciating the immense talent the artists have though.

Here's one picture taken with M's iPhone. Of course I forgot the camera at home. This is the only pic we could get without a glare or weird reflections showing up.

And here's big D with our bowl of meatballs!
Being surrounded by so many tattooed people made me think, just for a minute, about getting another small piece done. I really like inside wrist tattoos but first, what would I get, and second, would I really want a tattoo in a spot that cannot be easily hidden? Hmmm.

Ireland on my Mind

I'm sitting here drinking one of these. Thinking about the first time I had one. Four years ago in a pub in Ireland somewhere. That was the life.

Thinking about Ireland prompted me to look in my photo library for pictures. Then I remembered that time the hard drive died and most of my pictures were lost. So sad. Almost all of the pictures from M and I's first backpacking trip in Europe have disappeared into the abyss.

Luckily, two of my faves were salvaged. This is a picture of me sitting at the Cliffs of Moher. Beauty.

Here's M laying on top of the cliff and peaking over the side. I couldn't do it. Those teensy white things on the grass are people. It was really high up!

And finally, a video taken in Kilkee. That was one of my favourite memories of the trip. Ireland is breathtakingly beautiful. I want to go back!

Cheeseboogers, Fries, and a Coke

My mom left a link to this article in a comment the other day about the benefits of picking your nose and eating it too.
Here are the main two points the doctor makes:

1) Picking your nose and eating it is one of the best ways to stay healthy and strengthen your immune system.

2) Society should adopt a new approach to nose-picking and encourage children to take it up.

Thoughts, anyone?

Movember

Which mo do you fancy?

This month my husband is participating in Movember (read about it here) to help raise money for prostate cancer. His task is simple - grow a moustache! He needs your help in deciding a style, there's just too many good ones to choose from!

My personal belief is to go big or go home....

... no, bigger!
Perfect!

If you'd like to donate some moolah for the cause, let me know!

Leona Drive Project

On the weekend M and I were looking for something to do and heard about the Leona Drive Project. Before being torn down, a group of houses was handed over to artists to create an exhibit. Most of the art was on the exterior of the houses and in the backyards, but one house was fully open, including the basement.... spooky.

Can you spot me?
The bathroom in the picture below was painted with lipstick!

The car idea below was taken from an actual family in Etobicoke, whose house has been run into twice!

This room was decorated with painted pennies.

There were lots of video projectors used and when you looked at the windows of this car it seemed as if you were driving on the road.

Pretty interesting stuff!
